Hello, I’m Andy Hawthorne, the ageing writer responsible for all the nonsense content on here.
I live in Coventry, England. But my favourite place in the world is the Isle of Wight.
Anyway, I will try to explain the linguistic techniques that I use to compose my articles with careful and considered dexterity. If I wrote with the kind of precision I planned, I’d be a much better writer.
I grew up in a time when the British comedy greats were still in full flow and more would join them. Spike Milligan, Douglas Adams, Tom Sharpe. The Monty Python team. Legends, all of them.
It is with their influences that I take to the page and write. So, if it doesn’t make sense, blame the parrot.
It may interest you to know that I write using a MacBook Air, an iPhone, a Chromebook and a leaky biro. But for all intensive purposes, I write whenever the mood takes me using whatever is to hand. I once wrote a poem with a teaspoon stem as a pen and a jar of Branston Pickle for the ink.
