About Me

Me, pretending I know what I'm doing.

Hello. I’m Andy Hawthorne. And I'm used in Coventry, England.

I write true-ish stories. That means they’re mostly true, slightly bent, and occasionally wander off for sandwiches mid-sentence.

This site is where I publish oddments, observations, and the occasional outburst — all served in a slightly nonsensical, rambling way. I'm in my 60's now, so it's how my mind works.

You’ll find three main things here:

  • Stories - Strange-but-true vignettes from the messier side of real life. All of them have actually happened. Probably.
  • Writing Notes - Thoughts on writing, creative oddities, and the art of throwing spaghetti at the wall until something funny sticks.
  • Photography Notes - The visual equivalent of muttering into a lens cap. Mostly municipal beige. Occasionally poetic. Always unfiltered.

I used to be on Medium. Then I left. Something about algorithms, toast, and existential dread.

Now I’m here. You’re here. Let’s not ask too many questions.

Oh, and one more thing:
If you come across someone named Sprocket claiming to be your future overlord, don’t panic. He means well.
Probably.
