Scribbling For Bloggers
Writerings
I’m a doodler.
Sitting in meetings, or staring into space, I doodle.
Sitting on a bus (inside, not on the roof) or a train?
Out comes my notebook. More doodling.
But my doodling isn’t drawing. It’s words. I scribble down mad bits and pieces. Weird stuff, absurdities…
And I like it.
It’s like my brain is chucking out random scribbles for a laugh. And I’m the idiot that writes them down.
So, I always have a notebook in my pocket. It sits next to my keys, extra strong mints, tissues and a screw that belongs to… no idea what.
Yeah, I know, right?
Big deal. 100 words in this post so far, to waffle on about a notebook.
But this stuff is important if you’re a writer.
Catching ideas is like using colander as a tea strainer. A lot leak through that weren’t intended.
But that’s fine.
Oh, and by the way (btw for the hipsters), I did try using my phone. It sort of works.
But an actual notepad and pen? It feels natural and the ideas come out in a more pure form.
So the only point to this post is this:
Buy a note and pen. One you can carry in your pocket.
If you’re a blogist, it will serve you well.
Get into the habit of catching your thoughts — as they happen.
You might be surprised.
Or realise your handwriting is a bit like a drunken spider walked in ink. Either way, the notes will be there.
