The Quiet Confidence of Pigeons

This pigeon knows things.

He crept between the shadows knowing that some crumbs were coming his way. Or, possibly a full morsel, something he could take back for the kids. 

You can imagine the story: “Picked this up from a couple of humans. Blimey, they were about 10 feet tall — and one of them was talking to a lamppost.”

Meanwhile, the block paving stayed perfectly still. As it does every day.
