Let’s get this out of the way: I’m not here to explain the latest frontend framework, or argue about tabs vs spaces. (Though for the record: spaces. Obviously.)

This site isn’t really about code.

It’s about the stuff that surrounds code — the messy, brilliant, frustrating human bits. The things that make working on a dev team joyful… or just slightly soul-draining.

Communication. Culture. Hiring. Leading. Listening. Remembering everyone’s name in a Zoom quiz.

I’ve been leading dev teams for years. Long enough to know that “best practices” are often just “what worked last Tuesday.” And that being a good leader isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about making space for the answers to emerge.

So I’m writing things down. Thoughts. Lessons. Mistakes. Nudges I wish I’d had earlier.

It’ll be mostly sensible. Sometimes useful. Occasionally illustrated by a confused robot.

If that sounds like your kind of chaos — welcome aboard.
