The Blog
I sat at the kitchen table, staring at the blinking cursor. Rain battered the window. Cold for May.
I’m not the sort to have a blog. My mind flips like an excited spaniel. I can’t settle on a platform or a topic. Over the last six months, I’ve built up and torn down this site loads of times. Sounds bonkers. It is. But I keep going. Why? Dunno.
I stood ready to pull the plug for good. Then it hit me. Stopping would be worse. I’d end up ranting on some social media app. Shouting into the void to get the words out. I needed my own space to vent. So what did I do? I started building another version of the blog. Course I did.
It’s funny how building a blog teaches you to control your own mind. Sounds like an exaggeration. It ain’t. Writing calms the chaos. It gives the words an outlet. I reckon I have a compulsion to write.
They say blogging is graffiti with punctuation. If that’s true, this site is my brick wall. I look back at the screen. The rain keeps hammering the glass outside, but these words are safe. Now, have you got a wall?
